Johannesburg, South Africa: Surgesound recently completed the specifications and installation of the newly opened, Clapham Gold. Situated in the heart of the Northern suburbs in Fourways, Clapham Gold is the new meeting place for the young and fabulous.
The VDP Group has once again set up an ultra modern venue with cutting-edge interiors, finishes and furnishing, and even better state-of-the-art audio visual, and lighting equipment.
The 1500 capacity venue is a double volume area with VIP areas enclosed glass VIP areas which overlook the entertainment area. The audio system boasts the same components as Durban’s foremost nightspot Clapham Grand, with a combination of EAW AVALON DCS2 and Avalon DC4,s. Surrounds speakers in certain areas are also from the EAW stable, and include EAW COMM CIS 400’s in the reception area, and EAW SMS5, for the outside areas.
The venue uses another 14 FBT 8MA powered units as surrounds for the upper, and lower bar area. The main dancefloor EAW components are powered by the impressive world-renowned Labgruppen brand with a combination of the C-SERIES, and FP+ SERIES. All processing is handled by EAW’s UX 8800. Digital software & fine-tuning of the system was done with the Smaart software package.
